Wet Lab Makerspace

Northeastern University's Wet Lab Makerspace work benches.

Who are we?

The Wet Lab Makerspace is a Northeastern community resource for biology and chemistry projects. This space is meant to serve everybody at Northeastern: all students, staff, and faculty, regardless of course of study, concentration, or affiliation. The makerspace operates under a first-come, first-served model. Want to try some microbial art? Interested in learning microscopy techniques? Have an independent project in mind? We are here to provide training, equipment, and support to help you work safely and to guide you toward success.

How can I work in the Wet Lab Makerspace?

Pathway 1: Take Workshops

Our hands-on workshops and trainings are designed to introduce you to laboratory skills and workflows, from Basic Laboratory Skills to Microscopy, and more! Begin by taking an Orientation, then sign up for the workshop of your choice.

Pathway 2: Propose an Independent Project

To begin an independent project in the Wet Lab Makerspace, you will need to speak to makerspace staff. This will help us determine if we have the tools and resources to complete your project safely and effectively.
These pathways are inter-related. You may want to take some workshops to support the skills you need to complete a project. A workshop activity may spark the idea for a project of your own!
