Welcome to the Print Media Labs!
The Print Media Labs is a group of design studios open to everyone at Northeastern – on the Oakland campus! The Print Media Labs is made up of photography studios, black and white darkroom, digital labs, and experimental print processes. The lab is located in Aron Arts Complex Building F.

Open hours
The Digital Print Lab and Graphics Computer Lab are open!
We host open hours (almost) every day so that you can come in and make things. All you have to do is attend an orientation and wear appropriate clothing for the work you want to do (always close-toed shoes!). If you’d like to be trained on a specific piece of equipment, you can sign up for training or just bring your project in and ask someone for help!

Our orientation is a safety and community orientation that will teach you what you need to know to interact with the space: what the rules are, how to sign up for and attend trainings, and how to get checked off on equipment. We’ll also review our honor code and how our community works! Orientations run at the following times. Just drop in!

Trainings
We host regular trainings on our equipment! Our first workshop of the year will be:
Make Darkroom Prints Straight from your Smartphone
Thursday September 25, 5-7 PM
Print Media Labs, AAC 142 Building F
Join us for a 2-hour workshop on creating darkroom prints directly from your smartphone, no need for negatives! Participants will learn the fundamentals of black and white analog printing while making tangible prints they can take home. Safety training is not required for this workshop.
