Using a CNC router to cut wood Machining a mold out of metal

Intro to CAM

Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) is an advanced subtractive manufacturing technique. Subtractive manufacturing is the process of removing parts of a larger piece of stock– think of a sculptor chipping away at a block of marble to make a scultpure! Using CAM software, you can create toolpaths to remove parts of a piece of stock with extreme accuracy to create multiple, identical parts. This training will teach the very basics of CAM toolpathing on the software Fusion360. Please create a student account here: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/education, and download Fusion to your computer if you’d like to use it. Otherwise we will have a computer ready for you to use. If you are interested in teaching yourself CAM instead, check out our DIY CAM training!
