Join us at the Oakland Makerspaces for a hands-on workshop and informal conversation focused on the relationship between research, scholarship, and mending practices. What role does creativity play in the research process? What might mending have to teach us about working with the resources we have? What practices of repair might build our capacity—on campus, in our communities, and beyond? This event is open to all Oakland faculty and staff. You do not have to identify as an artist! Suzanne Schmidt, Director of Oakland Makerspaces will lead this workshop followed by a tour of the Makerspaces. Supplies will be provided. We hope to see you there!
