Person cutting wood on a miter saw Cutting a block of wood on a chop saw

Compound Miter Saw

A compound miter saw, sometimes called a chop saw, is a saw used to cut long, thin pieces of wood. The blade can be angled or tilted to create miters and bevels, which are cuts that are angled in relation to your wood stock. This is great for cutting wood into smaller, more manageable pieces as well as making repeatable cuts.
