A desktop CNC is a smaller version of the computer numeric control machine used for large scale machining. CNC milling is a subtractive manufacturing machine that cuts metal and plastics in three axes–X, Y, and Z–using computerized control. A CNC machine runs on G-code, which is produced by CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software. These desktop CNCs are typically used for electronics work (mainly to cut printed circuit boards) but can be used for any small-scale projects, such as making jewlery or small parts for your project.
