The in vitro cultivation of cells and tissues from multicellular organisms is an important tool in cell biology. The Wet Lab Makerspace has a Cell & Tissue Culture Room with CO2-controlled incubators, biosafety cabinets, and a cryo freezer. We also maintain a small library of commonly used cell lines which users may access for approved projects.
The Wet Lab Makerspace stocks cell culture consumables that are commonly used across many projects, but not those that are specific to a single project, cell line, or hypothesis. These include common cell culture media, PBS, trypsin, and common sizes of plastic consumables. Items not currently stocked must be ordered on a project-by-project basis.
