What is FYELIC?

The First Year Engineering Learning & Innovation Center is a lot to say, so we like to call it “FYELIC” [Fi-Lik]. The goal of the First Year Engineering Learning & Innovation Center is to provide engineering students with an immersive and innovative educational experience by offering curriculum resources and faculty support, which endorse the student-centered and professionally oriented mission of Northeastern University.

Who are we?

FYELIC is unique because we offer Academic Support and Makerspace Support for students taking Cornerstone of Engineering–in other words, we’re only open to students taking courses offered by the First-Year Engineering Program. If you are enrolled in these courses, you will be added to FYELIC’s Private Teams Group and SharePoint. FYELIC is located on the 3rd Floor of the Snell Engineering Center.

Red Vest Program

Red Vests serve as a bridge between first-year engineering students and the First-Year Engineering Program. Our student workers support the general academic needs of first-year engineering students and serve as helpers in the Makerspace. Do you have questions about your project? Make sure to ask a red vest!
