The Makerspace offers many resources to allow patrons to make and customize clothing, and Hetvi and Preksha are taking advantage of that with their projects!
They are using the embroidery machine to embroider a sweatshirt they brought in to create a thoughtful graduation gift for their friend. The design is a quote from his commencement speech in Sanskrit. They were able to learn how to use the machine with help from the DIY embroidery station training.
Additionally, they are using the sewing machines to sew their own aprons! After they have finished sewing, they plan to customize them, perhaps with the embroider machine or with some fabric that is available in the scrap fabric bin provided at the space.
While talking with them, they expressed eagerness in trying out other trainings and equipment, such as screen printing and the heat press (other great ways to customize clothes)!
