What is the Woodshop?
A hands-on workshop equipped with saws, sanders, and hand tools for students to build and prototype projects after completing safety orientation and tool training. The shop is located on the Oakland campus, in Aron Art Center Building D, Room 101.
Summer ’26 Open hours
*Starting May 13th, our summer hours will be 11am to 5pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please email oak.woodmetal@northeastern.edu to schedule an orientation, training, or to use the shop. Users will need to obtain an orientation prior to a training, and training prior to shop use. No drop ins will be accepted. If you have any questions please email oak.woodmetal@northeastern.edu.*
During the semester we host open hours (almost) every day so that you can come in and make things. All you have to do is attend an orientation and wear appropriate clothing for the work you want to do (always close-toed shoes, crocs don’t count!). If you’d like to be trained on a specific piece of equipment, you can sign up for training or just bring your project in and ask someone for help!
