DIY Workshop: Think It, Make It, Use It with Disability Access Services

October 23, 2026

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

AAC 183 Makerspace Classroom

What if the accessibility tool you need doesn’t exist? Let’s make it ourselves and make the world work for us!

Join DAS and the Makerspace for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how 3D printing can be used to create fidget toys, accessibility tools, and personalized solutions. Together, we’ll explore how we can empower ourselves through technology through adapting the world around us and create supports that meet our individual needs.

Experience hands-on elements such as:

  • customizing 3D printed fidget toys
  • hand embroidery
  • laser cut gliders to assemble, color, and fly

Learn about how to use the Makerspaces for you own custom accessibility modifications such as:

  • useful 3D printed objects (phone stands, desk organizers, etc)
  • custom sewn and decorated textiles objects – bags, clothes
  • using the laser cutter for prototyping and fabrication
